Dear Parents/Carers, Students, Staff and Visitors,
Welcome to the Prendergast-Ladywell Fields College website.
I am delighted to introduce you to our award winning College and I warmly invite you to come and look around.
Prendergast-Ladywell Fields College is at such an exciting moment – we have a fabulous new building; we are part of the Leathersellers’ Federation with Prendergast-Hilly Fields College and Prendergast-Vale College; we have done well in our first OFSTED and we have been recognized locally, regionally and nationally as a winning school! The photographs here feature the trophies and winning representatives of the ‘Best Sporting School in Lewisham’ award (two years in a row!); our ‘Get Set’ for the Olympics award (which was presented by Lord Sebastian Coe); the Mayor of London’s ‘Spirit of London, Young Heroes’ award; the South London Press ‘Heroes’ award; the 2010 ‘UK Citizen School of the Year’ award and the highly prestigious national 2011 ‘Philip Lawrence Award’. Finally, our examination results are rapidly improving and last year saw the best ever with some particularly outstanding individual results: nine of our students achieved at least eight A and A* grades and one, Deborah Dike, achieved ten A’s and four A*’s.

Prendergast-Ladywell Fields College is led by a team of talented and experienced senior teachers who are passionate about leading learning. We also have a hugely hard working staff group who are determined to provide our children with a supportive and caring school experience and, above all, the very best education possible. We are also supported by committed governors, many of whom are ‘Leathersellers’. Finally, we have students of whom we are very proud indeed: visitors consistently describe our children as being ‘delightful, polite and hungry to learn’ and OFSTED said: ‘Students are polite, welcoming and take great pride in their college……they present themselves well, with confidence, enthusiasm and obvious enjoyment.’
Our children deserve to have the best so that they can be the best: The knowledge and skills they acquire at school will equip them for life as adults in this rapidly changing world; we know that with us they can achieve their full potential and therefore maximize their chances of future success in all areas of their lives.
A clear focus on the importance of lessons and learning, combined with the joint efforts of students, staff and parents/carers, are enabling our College to continue building on its past successes and become the ‘excellent’ College which our motto says we strive for.
With very best wishes,
Mrs M Whitfield,
Headteacher
